I saw it last night and i was recoiling in fear as my friends laughed through the movie. It reminded me so much of my family it was scary. Half of my family is Armenian, which is close to Greek, except we don't drink ouzo or roast lamb. it was identicle right down to my 30 drunk uncles, 27 first cousins, and the aunt who keeps insisting you have something to eat. Anyone else have a family like this?

I'm half Armenian too

I dont see my dads family too much, but our famliy friends are like that...we actually drink a lot of uzo.

The reason we are so much like them is most likely because a lot of Armenians decended from the City of Armenon in Greece ;)

that, and from the former Hittite empire.

but yes, it's scary when your laughing because it's so "true" :)_

my girlfriend and I enjoyed it a lot. We're both Indian and we saw a lot of similarities to our culture too. My roommates last semester through an Armenian party so I saw this kind of thing before. Pretty fun...I wish I had more family here to have a good time like that.

On another note, I wouldnt disrespect the Armenian culture... Armenian was being spoken long before anyone ever spoke arabic, english, or French.

Jewish...I think my grandmother had multiple cameos in that movie. think "eat, eat, you're skin and bones".

I do. I have German and Swiss heritage, mostly, but the family and the eating part is the same. I have a cousin-in-law that is Armenian... dude's so cool.

I saw it and laughed my head off..
I am indian and for the most part I wont have that problem when I marry someone who is not indian.. cause my family is not stuck up like most indian families.

However i have armenian friends and to me seeing all that was in that movie really hit close to home..

The thing is the movie trancends cultures.. and that makes it really great.. I loved that movie.. so much that I recommended it to several people.

I was on a date for that movie (double date) but guess what there was no fooling around.. we just kept laughing.. if we tried anything we would have missed something.

ahhh yes, and the best part about being Armenian are the Weddings...my god do these people love to party. It's not everyday you see a preist intoxicated and dancing :)
