Did anyone actually like Scrappy Doo?

My wife and I got in a discussion last night about the merits of Scrappy Doo. Neither one of us knew anyone who liked him. I say they should have killed him off after a few episodes - maybe in a kiln explosion. Puppy Power!

He was like "Poochie" on the Simpson's "itchy and scratchy" cartoon. New character, new theme hopefully raises show's popularity.
Though frankly as a kid I thought Scrappy Doo was an obnoxious little twit.
