Did anybody recently buy a Toyota Matrix?

I want to buy Matrix within a month. So I'd like to hear how much you guys paid for your Matrix.
Could you give me some ideas about the actual price of this car?
Please list your car model (Base, XR, XRS) with options and the price. I really appreciate it.

Was $17k including tax, title, registration and other costs? Or before those?

see if there are matrix forums or other toyota forums where u can get a better response to this question.

generally, edmunds gives u a fair idea of the price u should be paying.

I drove a rental Pontiac Vibe recently and was pleasantly surprised. I like the car except for the noisy engine. Definitely geared towards the younger crowd and very practical. Nice factory standard sound system.

Why choose Matrix over the Vibe? The name alone would make me choose Pontiac 😀

Yeah, $17k with all that stuff. It was like $15.3k before all that stuff.

We just bought my mom a 2003 AWD Vibe just 3-4 months ago. She loves it. We haven't had any problems, and the gas milage is good too. If you're looking for power though, I must admit, the AWD and the regular Vibe are horribly underpowered (but my mom doesnt care/notice 😛). Overall, I believe we paid $18,000.

Go for Vibe GT or XRS in your case... I think.

Oh and PICs:

It's a TOYOTA.

They are IDENTICAL except for exterior styling. Saying this brings sadness to my heart (LOYAL GM BUYER), but Toyota is not better than GM in this case.

How is it better quality? Its the SAME CAR!!!!! Built at the SAME plant, by the SAME people.

Its like saying a GMC truck is better then a Chevy truck.

Oh..for reals? My bad.

I wouldn't buy an American car though. They haven't convinced me yet to buying one.

The Matrix is made in Canada, while the Vibe is made in the USA. I have a Matrix and I love it. The Vibe is just to fugly, looks like a shrunken Aztec. I am sure Need4Speed will disagree with me here, just like he hated my choice of a Volvo S40.

There you go! If it's made in Canada, it's gotta be better than some crap that the US puts out, right? 😉

Their ad campaign has made me utterly refuse to buy one of their cars. Every movie I saw in first-run theaters for like a year had that damned thing! A few movies would have been fine, but NOT EVERY ONE! That thing was so marketed to death it's revolting. :disgust: They've tried to ram it down my throat so much I would never purchase that model, ever. :|

Hello, guys.
Here is my update.
Last Friday I bought a red Mazda Protege5 with auto, moonroof, 6 CD changer, and leather seat for $14800 + TTL after $2500 rebate and $500 recent graduate cashback.
I test drove Protege5 and I just fell in love with it. When I drove Matrix XR (not XRS model), I felt like I drove corolla. But when I drove Protege5, it felt like a sports car. It was really fun to drive. Definitely Matrix has much bigger cargo room, but I didn't need a big cargo. So it was easy to decide between two.
Thank you guys.
