Did anybody catch PCGamer's plug for Anandtech?

September 2002 issue has a feature article 'How to Play New Games on Your Old PC,' and in a sidebar to the article they note Anandtech as one of their favorite overclocking sites. Kinda cool. Page 55, right margin, if you're lookin'. :)

Tell me about it. June 19th or 20th, I went looking for a retail copy of the June issue, and not a single store locally had it. They had plenty of July issues, though. Stupid store policies. :(

In defence of PC Gamer, though, the direct-ship issues are almost always one month early, and the two times (in 4 years) that I have had an issue get lost in the mail, they have been great about re-shipping.

Oh man, I remember my days of PC Gamer. And i still remember the Vede. Does he still have that stupid Q/A column? Personally though, I liked PCXL much better. They were allowed to get away with a lot of things that probably wouldn't fly in PCG. Not to mention the humorous sidelines, babes everywhere, the articles on what they do to crappy games (disc in waffle irons, etc), and sarcasm that made it infinitely better than PCG.

Greg Vederman was (is) a funny SOB. I don't subscribe anymore but I enjoyed his Hardware column.

Damn rite PCXL ruled. If only more people had known about this gem back wehn it came out, it would still be here

PCG is still a good magazine, but I long for the days when they had like 400+ pages per issue. Now, they can barely break 150 pages
