Did any of Obama's Cabinet Picks Pay Their Taxes???

First Geithner then Daschle, now Nancy Killefer bows out with tax paying issues.

Second withdrawal of the day

Daschle?s exit was the second of the day for an Obama appointee.

Nancy Killefer, Obama?s choice to be the government's first ?chief performance officer,? bowed out, saying that she didn't want her failure to payroll taxes for her household employee to create a diversion from the president?s agenda.

The way things are going I think that we need to have the entire House, Senate, and all of the Obama administration employees get audited. I bet all the unpaid taxes the IRS will find will pay a nice chunk of the stimulus package.

Hey when you make as little as you do there's not much too it. Just wait until you grow up and get an adult job and have adult responsibilities and if you are successful and have multiple incomes from different sources it won't be so simple, even if you are an accountant.

Writing a single number from your W2 onto your 1040EZ isn't exactly the same as paying big-boy taxes. And no, I don't pay big-boy taxes. But my GF was a tax attorney.

That said, if you can't figure it out, pay someone who can.

Am I the only one that thinks this has less to do with Obama's selections and more to do with the greater vetting process in place for the new administration? You want to tell me everyone on Bush's cabinet was on the level? I think this is an early sign that change is in motion.

Bush had very qualified supreme court nominees ass raped for nothing. Don't hand me this crap that Obama's nominees are held to a higher standard.

What a cop out. These are people who are within the system they created. If they cant figure it out the system is broken or they are intentionally doing what they did. In these three cases I see nothing that was complicated about what they did. They simply tried to scam the system and got caught. How hard is it to pay "unemployment insurance" on an employee? This is business 101.

Vetting process what vetting process? The man that will run the IRS isn't smart enough or honest enough to pay his taxes yet he is smart enough to "fix" our recession.

yup. and the guy testified at the hering he used turbo tax which didnt compute something right. he didnt do it on purpose to defraud the government.

The bad part is that this is the best the Democratic party has, it's either cheats, tax cheats or crooks. Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Geithner, Daschel, Reed, Frank & Dudd these are some of our highest elected/selected official and I wouldn't trust them to watch after my dog.

My best friend who is a police officer would not even have made the academy if he owed back taxes... And his chances at making that would have been in jeopardy if he had that in his history even if he was paid up. We place a lot of basic criteria to be met by our most basic of public servants and these officials think they are above the rule of law and ethics.
