I hope someone will know what I am talking about..
I have been using XP Pro SP2 and IE6 for a long while now. I have a Comcast connection and router. No problems. When I connect to work (I work from home 4 days a week) I, of course, use VPN. I created a .pac file so that when I am on VPN I can access outside services, like these forums. When I disconnect from VPN, it sees that and connects direct. Worked great...'til a week or so ago. I did do an XP update, but do not know if that did anything.
I looked at my router and I never had any ports mapped or use a Virtual server for this. Does anyone know what could have changed?
Now, when on VPN, I need to select options-connections-lan-use proxy. When off, I choose direct. Before, I selected "use automatic configuration script" and did not care if I was on VPN or direct. The automatic script no longer works, and it has not changed for the last year either.
