Did a search, but nothing. When I buy photos online, do I select glossy or matte? What's preferred?

Both are same price at Blacks. Glossy or Matte? I think I know what they are, one is glossy, the other isn't glossy (?) But which one is preferred, why?

I get matte when I have a choice. I have relatives who insist on putting their fingers on the photo, leaving fingerprints. It drives me nuts. Glossy photos just don't work for me.

I usually get glossy... just because all my other photos are glossy and I like things consistent...

glossy behind a piece of glass doesn't work so well, iirc. you have two reflective surfaces then

I worked at a photo lab last summer and I always told people to get glossy, because it was less work for me (had to make changes in the settings to print matte, and sometimes change the paper cassette). Some people think matte brings out the color better, but matte pictures dont feel like photographs to me.
