OP, you would think that something as granular as the censoring tool . . . which words to censor and which not . . . would be the purview of the moderators who know and patrol these forums. It is not.

Our remote corporate overlords, in their infinite wisdom, have sole access to this tool. Tools are what we're discussing here.

You may, of course, petition them directly on this matter, as we have done innumerable times on innumerable matters. Best of luck with that!

Looks like they don't try to be clever, though it's interesting that the zero-width space doesn't work.
 
so does that mean somebody who is a closet *** named Dick cannot use these forums to announce to the world that they are a *** named dick?
