Any bank will have a collection of them, same with half dollars. I usually bring in a 20 and get 10 bills every few months when I'm at the bank depositing a check for novelty. Kids really love them as gifts.

I see alkemyst point. I have quite a few times tipped $3-5 dollars on small bills based on service alone. Sometimes you have to consider that and forget any formulas. It was service for 2. Just saying the counterpoint. Still like the $2 bill.

I only tipped my portion of the bill. My friend tipped his. Total tip was $4 for $18.79.

Some people will refuse it because they don't have a slot for it in their cash register. Which is stupid. They usually don't have slots for $50 or $100 bills either, but they accept those. I've worked a few different retail jobs, and they all had room for miscellaneous crap somewhere in the register.

I usually keep $10-20 in $2 bills in my wallet for "emergency" cash. It's not something I'd normally spend, but if someplace doesn't take CCs, I have a backup.

And this reminds me .. I gave a bunch to my father in law. I need to hit up the back and replenish my stash.
