The guy who let Osama bin Laden leave Tora Bora alive, so he'd have an excuse for regime change in Iraq. The guy whose hatred of gay people allowed the seeds of ISIS to sprout and plunge the region into a holy war level festival of crimes against humanity. People were being burned alive and executed with chainsaws thanks to what he did to Iraq and Syria. Was told earlier that I should have some empathy for his family, which I do. I gave his daughter props for standing up to Trump when she did, have no problem with her. But for him? Sorry, "other priorities."

"The truth is in the middle."
Saying that they flipped is being way generous. They are very staunch political conservatives, even if they beefed with DJT. Yes, the Cheneys stood with the Constitution in 2024. That should be a requirement for all public servants, not something to actively cheer just because the Guardians of Pedophiles are now all Trump-fearing sychophants.

As for Dick Cheney, just because he said the right things about the 2024 presidential election doesn't change his entire record as VP. As this thread asserts, there's nothing "complicated" about his legacy.

- Honestly given Trump's history as a Democrat and frankly his pursuit of policies that are essentially antithetical to traditional conservatism (tariffs and state ownership of corporations for example) I think the Cheney's bigger issues with Trump are likely ideological and not methodological.

Out of respect for Liz Cheney, I will keep my comments short and as nice as I can.

His legacy will be tarnished by all the negative impacts his actions have had on this country ever since he had influence and power. He will not be missed.

So…how long will the line be when they finally open the Dick Cheney Memorial Urinal? Gotta be hundreds of thousands of like minded individuals who can’t wait to piss on his grave.

My epitaph for Cheney:

Cheney did a lot of evil things, but at least he wasn't taken in by the even greater evil of Trump.

A clear sign of how depraved and evil Trump is, is that our previous benchmark for depraved evil, endorsed a black, female democrat for president.

Also a sign of what sheep most republicans are that they blindly follow trump.

Anybody heard from Colin Powell lately? Earlier in my life, I met Elliot Richardson twice. But that party and the times have really changed.
