Yeah I expect quite a few games will be using parts from GPUOpen very soon if not now.

Well if they upload modified branches and extended features onto GitHub, it means other studios or even small time devs can grab it for free and apply it as they see fit.

That's actually a great idea and should lower development cost for many studios in the long run. Basically they are tapping into a bigger field of expertise, for free.
