My apologies to the Moderator, but since I got this hot deal here, I thought I'd post for other people who might have gotten screwed...
I'm posting here, because this is where I first heard of the Hot Deal. I received this email from Doug and Liz Sirman, dasirman@mediaone.net. If you would like to "join the cause", please write to them.

This message is intended for all those who have attempted to change their
orders on diapersforfree.com since December 5th. [snip]
Last night, the names, e-mail addresses, and order details for anyone who
had attempted to change or cancel their order from diapersforfree since Dec.
5th, 2000 was acquired. This was pathetically easy to accomplish and
demonstrates the breathtaking incompetence and slack-jawed stupidity of
those managing this site. All one need do is enter the address:
http://www.diapersforfree.com/updates
...and within seconds, a comma-separated-values file named "updates" will
begin downloading to your system. This is the file to which is written all
the requests for changes to existing accounts. To open the file, change the
name of the file by appending the extension ".csv" or ".txt" to the file
name, giving you either updates.csv or updates.txt. What this means of
course is that anyone with a basic understanding of website structure can
find out your username and e-mail address. This also means that such people
would also know that you more than likely have a small child in diapers. To
me, that's frightening.
A number of you have already contacted us and told us of your unsuccessful
efforts at getting either a delivery or getting your money back. Some of
you have gone to the trouble of contacting tierra.net, the web host of
diapersforfree and others have contacted the Better Business Bureau in
Phoenix, AZ. I think you should know that tierra.net probably has a
contract which they must either honor or break through legal means; this
means that they may not be particularly motivated to get rid of a paying
customer. What many of you may not know is that the BBB has no legal,
controlling authority and can't do anything other than advise potential
customers to steer clear of diapersforfree.
The Situation:
As many of you know, business at diapersforfree.com seems to have reached a
standstill. Promised deliveries have failed to materialize and promised
partial or full refunds have not been forthcoming. It has been over a month
since we personally have heard anything from them. Some of our friends to
whom we recommended the site have never received their first shipment.
Their money was taken though...
After numerous attempts to either get what we paid for or get a refund, it
has become clear to us that diapersforfree.com is unwilling to meet its
legal obligations. I would say that it's possible they have been UNABLE to
do so, but that would imply that they have made a good-faith effort to
inform their customer-base. They have not done so.
In the next 48 hours, an "e-group" discussion group will be established.
Soon after that, you will receive an invitation to join the group. This
participation is free of charge and imposes no obligation upon the member.
It would simply enable us to discuss our individual and collective options
as well as network our resources and pursue a course of action which will
hopefully lead to a satisfactory resolution to this situation. If you know
of other's who have been swindled by diapersforfree but who may not have
received this e-mail message, please inform them of this message and have
them contact us at fulldiapersforfree@yahoo.com.
Following is the only contact information we have for both
diapersforfree.com and tierra.net, their web host. If you have further
information you'd like to share with your fellow victims, please feel free
to join the e-group and publish that information.
Thank you,
Doug & Liz Sirman
Arizona Attorney General.
