DiamondMax Plus 45 or 60?

I hear the 45 is a much better performer than the 60. What are your thoughts?

Much better performer? No. It edges out the Plus 60 by 0.2ms in seeks, that's about it, everything else gets beat by Plus60.

Both drives use upto 3 platters. What size are you looking for?

The 60 Plus series will out perform the 45 Plus series due to the higher data density.
The latter has a 30% higher one at 20GB per platter.

Both are ATA/100.

If you need maximum storage at good speed get the Diamond Max 80
If you want some more speed but a bit less space then go for the Diamond Max Plus 60
