Diamond Xtreme Sound 7.1

I'm looking to get a new sound card (sorry trusty Soundstorm!) and was looking at these ones from Diamond: http://www.diamondmm.com/xtremesound.php I had a Diamond MX-series card years ago and it was a great card.... I've had several Creative cards since, from the Soundblaster 16 up to the Soundblaster Live!, which is when I gave up on Creative, mainly because of their poor drivers (when they bothered to update them).

These new Diamond cards, though horribly-named, seem decent on paper, and the prices are good, but I could only find one review, from Neoseeker. Not the best place for good tech reviews (IMHO) even if they give something a stellar review.

Has anyone had any experience with these cards?

Thanks for any information or another review that I may have missed.

I recently purchased this card and using it with my logitech Z-5500 speakers.

Basically this card is based of the cmedia chip, just like the Turtle Beach Montego DDL sound card. One thing that you should be aware of is that Dobly Digital encoding is done by the drivers which means it's not a true hardware encoding like how it was on nforce2 with soundstorm. I have an athlon x2 4800+ and there is an approximately 8% fps penalty when DDL is enabled for games.
