Another freebie I got from a friend....any good???

Does this work with XP?? Any known issues with it?? Does is game well?? Looks like it came from micronpc... Just thinking about putting it in my kids PC to replace an 8mb ATi rage pro.

It was a good video card though many have said that the 2D image quality wasn't that good on it. You can use it under Windows XP as it's supported by the current set of drivers on NVIDIA's website.

It's fine for everything, apart from very demanding games (like first person shoot 'em up). I still have a TNT card and I am OK with it (had bought a GF3 and returned it for getting something else).
I believe that it works with WinXP, nVidia's drivers can be used for TNT-TNT 2 cards. It will be definitely better than the ATI 8MB.
Since it's free, go for it!

It's an awesome card. On a fast PC, it will almost keep up with the GeF2GTS and GeF3 cards I have on our LAN with UT. It will overclock without complaint as well. Never met a 770 I didn't like.

Uhh... this would only be true if your running around resolutions of 320x240, 640x480, or something equally low where CPU is the determining factor

As for the TNT2, it was a good card at the time it came out (disappointing for me) but it'll beat out the ATI 8mb card, so use it! it's free! price/performance ratio is great in this case

Yes, this card will work fine in winXP..Get the 23.11 or 21.83 Det drivers from Nvidia. Still a good card for OpenGL games like half-life and quakeIII, although Direct3D performance may struggle a bit. Don't expect to be playing Max Payne @ anything above low detail.

BTW, this card will way out-do that ATI card and will be perfect for the kids(of course depending on what they play..Nickelodeon games or UT ) Go for it..Can't beat free.
