Anyone here know anything about this? Kinda like a permanent Rain-x type stuff, I guess.

I can get it done for $20.

Just wondering how it works, how it lasts, does it yellow or anything like that.....

TIA

I put some Rain-x on my windows a year ago and it seemed to work pretty well, but it's worn off now.

I didn't notice any smearing.

Did you bother to turn on the wipers ? ;) j/k

I have used Rain X on several of my vehicles,I always encountered smearing when it drizzles out.(Not during hard rain).
The same applies for the Diamond Shield.

That's probably why I didn't notice. I don't turn on my wipers until the rain starts to come pretty good. I usually just do a single swipe when the windshield is relatively wet.

how bad is the smearing? Do you still recommend it? My wipers are crapping out these days

Then you will find Diamond Shield perfectly acceptable :)

Buy new wipers
:Q

If your wipers are in good shape there is really no need for Rain X or Diamond Shield IMHO.

Roger, when was the last time you used rainx? They changed the formula a few years back to cut down on smearing.

I love Rain-X...it works great. Make sure you follow the application instructions carefully. It's not just about clearing the water off, it cuts down on fogging. I rarely need to use my defroster now.

the new stuff is much better. You just wipe it on, let it haze and buff it off.

Fog X :)

Also works great on the bathroom mirror. (Especially when you are shaving)
