i'm not sure but it could be because the consoles come no where near to displaying the native resolution of the lcd and lcd picture greatly drops (and AA is much more noticeble) when its not at native resolutions

the next gen go to higher resolutions, it should be less noticeble, you can also try a vga box, it upscales the resolution to make it more palatable
