I want a paper shredder, and can spend up to $60 including taxes/shipping. I would like to spend $40, but $60 is the limit.

http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=811592 seems to look like everything I would need, but I wanted to make sure there wasnt something better.

Anyone who knows anything about shredders, please share your info! Anything better for the same price or less?

i have that exact model.

it'll shred everything, which is good, and can take enough sheets that most credit card statements can be shredded if you unfold them. diamond cut doesn't seem to back up as well as the normal confetti cut, however.

if i hadn't just read that cycle time blurb on that page, i wouldn't know about it. mine doesn't seem to do that.

i've ruined two of these in the last year by putting too many sheets in the thing. the blades bend and then the thing grinds and starts to suck.

so only put the number of sheets it claims it can handle.

I use a Fellows I got from Wal Mart. I've been happy with it and it shreds like a champ.

I think it is pretty much the same, other than the shape.

http://desktoppub.about.com/cs/paper/bb/papershredders.htm

"Cross-cut shredders provide more security by cutting paper vertically and horizontally into confetti-like pieces. The shredded paper compresses better so the basket holds more cut paper. The trade-off is these shredders may require more maintenance and generally cost more. With patience someone could reconstruct any shredded document. Cross-cut shredders just make the job a lot more tedious."

Diamond cut looks like <>. I bought the Office Depot one for $20 on Tuesday. Original price is $50. Ativa? DQ80M. Confetti gives you smaller pieces. We have a confetti shredder in the office by Fellows.. Diamond cutter gives you pieces that are very loose, so you have to shake down the basket every few feeds. I like it a lot though.
