Hey all,
Recently we moved my grandmother up to Georgia to a new nursing home so that we may take care of her a little easier. Obviously, we would let her live with part of the family but she needs a nurse 24/7 and none of us can afford that.
/start rant
She also goes to dialysis and the first part of the problem is until medicare is approved, they will not drive her to the dialysis place which is 5 miles away. Instead, everyone in our family is having to take PTO time to take her including myself. I love my Grandma, and I have taken her a few times but this is freaking ridiculous. It's a freaking bus ride from the home to the dialysis place and they will not do it unless medicare approves it. Medicare takes forever to approve because first they have to confirm she is a resident of the state, she's been here three weeks, come on.
Second part:
So once we get her to the dialysis place for her appointment, she waits an average time of 1 hour to get her in. So she basically sits in a freaking wheelchair until they get here, I mean really this is not fun. I just want to bitch slap the retard who invented our medicare policies and system. The way people get treated is just juvenile!
/end rant
Anyone experienced our wonderful medicare system with a loved one?
