Does anybody still use dial-up??

Sadly, I do

Pathetic, but it's a sad fact I have to live with....

It used to be my only option with the exception of satellite, which is ridiculously overpriced..some people don't have much choice in the matter.

I do 🙂 it helps to save $20 at work per month. I pay $60 at home for cable, so why need anything fast here?

my old boss used to bring his cable modem from home and hook it up at his office lol.. just saying, it might be an option for you if you have same company cable terminal at your workplace, and nobody that needs to use the cable modem at your home

edit: oh and hell no i don't use dialup.. id rather not use the internet altogether.

ps. anyone notice this new forum spellcheck feature? underlines words on the fly like MS word.. cool.

Some people are not quite internet junkies. They cry they cant see the funny youtube videos or other video based humor emails because it takes too long, but they seem totally happy with dialup.

I'm shocked dialup companies still can make a buck.

My dial up company(ies) haven't been making a buck

The one I started with was sold out to some company, then that one went bankrupt, was bought, and this cycle keeps happening

Maybe Verizon will buy it out someday. I can only dream

I dont have it, but I know a kid who goes to my school that does. Hes pretty unlucky. I think hes the kid who drives that blue cavalier.

my friend does. of course, he's rarely online anyway. he doesn't use the internet enough to justify paying the price for dsl or cable.

There are quite a few of them at work. They all drive like 1 1/2 hrs. to work.

I'm surprised that the internets have even gotten out to them.
