I have a LAN with two computers (Both using Windows XP Pro). I'm using my Linksys BEFSR41 Router as a switch (No Broadband). My Computer's IP Addresses are statically assigned thus:

Router: 192.168.1.1 (Default Gateway)

Computer1: 192.168.1.2

Computer2: 192.168.1.3

My LAN is working beautifully. File and Printer Sharing works flawlessly.

However, now I would like to share a dialup connection between these two computers. But when I choose the option under Internet Connection Sharing "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" a message pops up and says:

"When Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be set to use IP address 192.168.0.1. Your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on your network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, you should set them to obtain their IP addresses automatically. Are you sure you want to enable Internet Connection Sharing?"

OF COURSE I DO, but I do NOT want to use DHCP! Or do I have no choice? What is the best way to go about this? Should I set this up through Microsoft's ICS? or is there a way to do it through my BEFSR41 Router Configuration? I would like to have Internet Connection sharing, yet keep my static IP addresses.

Your feedback on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.
