dialup router

My sister bought a house where she only has dialup internet access. She has multiple machines she would like online at the same time. I'd like to stay away from ICS. I'd also like a router that would dial on demand if possible.

I saw this 56K Modem with Built in Router posted by JackMDS on ezlan.com. Is that my only option?

Thanks.

My own hopes were that I could switch from PC to PC without dropping the dialup and having to redial from the next PC I'd chosen to use. At the time, the Best Data device either didn't exist, or was then the same as today, "Not in Stock". I spent way too much on Netgear's Router with built-in Modem (upward of $200), and it simply didn't work well enough. First, it was far too anxious to make a connection of any kind at all, instead of redialing when the best it could get was 28.8 or worse.

Second, Netgear included no way in which to monitor the connection speed, and Windows itself didn't understand the connection well enough to offer any check on the slow connect speeds that might as well be a disconnect, considering the high graphical content of the modern internet.

Third, it has badly designed, very slow software that makes it awkward, slow, and too difficult to disconnect the slow connection and redial.

So, it's just functioning as a hub now!

We had a remote office with a webramp 200i, which seamed to work well. You may not be able to find them new but ebay has a couple listed.

I'm using one right now... SMC Barricade 7004WBR - it's a bit older, but you can probably find one cheap now. It's also got built in print server and wireless B, and decent firewall protection.
