Last week I installed XP Professional, and everything is working pretty well, except for one thing that's really annoying me.
The password for my dialup connection will not save correctly. I enter the username and password, check the save password box and connect. Fine. The next time I go to connect the username is appears correctly, but the passwords has changed. By this I mean the number of dots have changed from 7 (my password) to 16, and it won't connect. This means I have to enter the password everytime I want use the internet.
This feature didn't always work properly in Windows 98 (which I upgraded from) and I really would have thought it would by fixed by now.
I have all the latest drivers, patches etc including SP1. This was installed onto a freshly formated harddrive (not over 98)
Any assistance is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Rowan

Hey, that's just a security feature with XP.. it's kinda like encryption. Just to make it harder for someone to guess your password.. it is still your same password in there, they just added the extra stuff to confuse people. It should work fine if you connect with that password in there.. unless there is a problem with the way it encrypts it or something along those lines.
