Dialup is SUPER slow on an old Dell. Driver issue? How do I find out which modem it has?

I recently installed XP on my uncle's Dell Dimension 8100. The initial driver for the modem didn't work, so I installed a second driver - which works but the connection is SO slow that pages won't even load. Prior to the installation of XP/this driver, the speed wasn't anything to write home about, but pages would eventually load.

-How do I go about finding out which modem this computer actually has?
-Do you think this is a driver issue?

Thanks in advance!

Start, Control Panel, Phone & Modems .. when it comes up
click on the Modem Tab .. it will tell you the Make & Type
of Modem you have in the PC ... then go to Dell and get the
correct Driver

Next go into Device Manager and Uninstall the existing Modem
Drive ... then install the Correct Driver .. that should do it
