dial-up through home network

Ok, here is the situatio.

First off, I am a complete newbie to networking, I believe I can easily get a network up and running on a home network.

Here is the my question, I will soon get a satelite connection, but I still need a land line out (I know, I want cable//dsl, but I live out in the country). I want to supply this connection to multiple computers.
So you say "why dont you just leave it on and access the net np, get a router and connect it to your server (the comp that gets the usb satelite modem). Well, I only have one phone line, and I cant get another for any reasonable amoutn of money. I need to be able to dial-up on my computer through the server and disconnect, how do I do that? I dont know want to have to walk over to my server (which is actually that shuttle barebones system that acts as a dvd player and an mp3 player for my living room), connect to the net, walk back to my comp, do my stuff, then walk back and disconnect from the net and leave.

Please excuse me if this is a dumb question, I am just trying to learn.

not sure but I can tell you that I use XP on my main machine, and I have dialup until something faster is available.. I use ICS to share the connection a few other computers, laptop etc. there is an option in there to allow other computers on the network to be able to start and stop the dialup connection (as if it were on that computer). I know it works to start the connection from another computer, havent tried closing the connection. I'll try and let you know..

edit - and if you cant get it to work you can always put VNC on the server and access its desktop from your computer, so you dont have to "walk over there" like you said

If it works to open the connection through another computer, I am sure it can close it. Thanks for the input, I will be using XP on all the systems. Also, I have to use ICS because the router cannot deal with requests for the satelite through a land line also, you have to do a bunch of stuff its crazy heh.
