When ever I install a new protocol (i.e. TCP/IP, NetBEUI) Windows98SE automatically installs a Dial-Up companion. Is it needed to run my ADSL network; file sharing only?

I think this is the reason why I?m experiencing frequent pausing.

Ok great, so TCP/IP - Dial Up, I can bump right? Or rather I can bump all Dail-Ups?

actually, if your provider uses PPPoE, yes.

unless you use a PPPoE compatible router...

PPPoE sucks ;-(
more stable - ie - less disconnections
Any good recommendations for a connection program - my ISP supplie enternet 100 - very buggy and slows down windows 98 terribly
