Dial up problem on optus australia

When first dialing up I have to wait like 3 minuts before I can start to look at a web page.
Thats after the connection is made and some times I get heaps of recieved errors when even looking at basic web pages. Some times a disconnect reconet helps.
Running win xp
2.0gig
512m ram
Maybe looking at another web hosting company as optus dont seem to know what is doing it.

fire optus, find another connection.

wish I could help, but I dont think you could get on with bellsouth (USA)

dial up's are a dime a dozen here, but the preferred solution is Broadband (cable, DSL)
