Let's make this short and sweet. :)

=> My modem don't detect if a phone line is connect to it or not AND don't use it in any way when available.

I'm running WinXP 2495 on my main machine (specs available by following the link in my signature) with a cheap Zoltrix HCF Winmodem. I know this could be the problem. But I tried all the HCF modem drivers from the XP library. It is working just fine with WinME and not with WinXP.

Should I try with another modem? Because when I try to connect, the modem make the usual clicking sound to point that the modem is initializing. Then, it's supposed to start dialing using the phone line. But it doesn't.

Any comments or advices? Thanks for all the help in advance.

Try using hyperterminal to connect to the modem port and see if you can enter init strings manually. My ultimate recommendation is not to use a beta OS and a winmodem. Winmodems alone are not worth the trouble.
