Dial up not resolving (DNS)

I have a win2k box that will not resolve names to IPs. Internet browsing can be done by IP only (sometimes). I checked the DNS settings in the dial-up properties and they appear to be correct but this pup will not resolve ( I also tried other DNS servers). I'm trying to help a relative and they'll be calling in two hours. The PC did have a nic card installed once upon a time and my cousin also put AOL on there in a misguided attempt at troubleshooting (?!!?!?!). I'll be doing phone support with someone that isn't very technical so extended troubleshooting isn't feasable. I'm heading to technet to see if I can figure this out but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks
 
if you say you have your part set up right then i guess its the isp...Why dont you call them up and tell them,or usually on their sites they list their problems!
