Dial Up Networking Problem w/ Win2k...HELP!!!!

I recently installed Win2k and i'm having problem with dial up networking. After i created a dial up account, there's a red X on the dial up icon. When i went to properties and looked at it, it says the modem was "modem {}", and didn't let it chose the modem i had installed(in other words, the place where you chose the modem was grayed out). When i went to the modems setting, it was working properly because win2k was able to communicate with it. Anyone know what's going on?
