Hey Everyone....I'm trying to set up a pseudo-server on my campus T1 connection in my dorm room. I've got the system up and running WinXP Pro. One nice feature is it's dial-up networking, where I've successfully got it to dial in and have internet access. This does, however, pose the limitation on our single phone line that when it's pluged into the modem, it answers after 2 rings. I have absolutely no idea how to set the rings. I'd like to set it to 5 or six rings so that I can remote turn off our ansering machine, have it ring and connect, and when I'm done, call and turn the machine back on.
ANy suggestions on how to accomplish this? Also, does anyone know if it's possible to remote desktop to the computer you are dialed into? I tried this once, and it said only 1 user could be online, but if there is no one logged on locallyl, will the netowrk connection still answer the modem?
THanx,
