Dial Up networking connection question

I am trying to set up a dial up connection, when the connection is all setup and i double click the connection to dial...it starts dialing and then it stops or disconnects, diagnostics say modem is fine. If i run hyper-terminal and enter ATDT.....it connects fine. Only through dial up networking connection do i get this problem. I have reloaded dial up network connection. No luck. This is on a Windows ME machine. Anyone have any ideas?

did you try different numbers from the ISP?

check your connection propertie (right click on the connection, select properties. after that, click on the configure button on the general tab, and select the connection tab. you'll find a check box that say "cancel the call if not connected within "x" seconds". uncheck it, and you should be fine. PM if it still doesn't work.
