Dial stuck on A40 camera. Anyone else?

The dial is stuck on my Canon A40 camera. (The dial tha switches from auto to manual to review etc.) The thing won't turn anymore. I opened up the camera, but even after doing that I would still need to remove the card reader from inside to get the dial, so that was a no go. Anyone else have this problem? or any suggestions on how to fix this problem.

Did you have a warranty on it? Even if you did it's nil now that you opened it yourself.

That is the one flaw that is dissapointing in the Camera, luckily on mine whenever it gets stiff I have been able to get it to free up by a few drops of silicon around the edge of the dial and it seeps in.

where can I get silicon at and how much is it? Do any other chemicals work, like wd-40? Also, I doubt opening voided the warranty, because there is no way to tell I opened it. No sticker or anything.
