I've been having problems with my laptop. See this Post (on Anandtech)

Today, a crash occured when I entered into the right-click menu on my xp desktop. I've heard there's a bug in xp that raises CPU usage to 100% when you right click. This made me wonder if my CPU is causing problems.

Is there a diagnostic tool that allows you to determine whether a CPU is faulty or error prone such that it would cause problems? I'm looking for something like memtest86 except for use with CPUs instead of RAM.

Thanks.

Prime 95 appears to be designed to find Mersennes numbers.

How will this find problems with my CPU?

Run the prime 95 torture test (You will find it in one of the menus) over night...bout 8 hours if the cpus ok no errors should occur if you get errors/warnings then start to question your cpu's stability.
