Diagnosing a Hardware Problem...

I have a new computer that has been stable for a couple months since I built it, but recently it crashed and will not turn on. I tried reseting BIOS, but that did nothing so I don't believe that is the problem.

I have an Asus P5K-Deluxe, Intel E6420, Geil DDR2 RAM, 8800 GTS and Corsair PSU. I took out the RAM and started it up, but there were no "beeps" indicating that the motherboard is reporting that the RAM is gone. I did the same with the Graphics Card, still no beeps.

Does this mean that the motherboard itself is dead?

I'm really at a loss as to what I should do now...

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks

If the mainboard BIOS is written to beep when no RAM or no VGA is found, then yes, either the mainboard, processor or power supply are probably dead.

If it's not supposed to beep in these situations, you know nothing.

It says in the Asus manual that it is supposed to beep.

The power supply is 520W and has been fine for the month or so since I bought it. Also, when I turn the computer on all the case fans turn on, as well as the DVD drive and the LED on the motherboard, so it's getting power.

I don't know why the motherboard (or the CPU) would just stop working all of a sudden, but this is pretty disappointing. I wish I had some way of knowing before I send the motherboard back...
