Hi folks, my computer has been behaving erratically recently and I was hoping to get some insight into which components may be responsible.
Several days ago, my computer began randomly crashing when playing games. These crashes occured without BSOD and the computer would suddenly either:
1) Become unresponsive with a noisy purple screen. GPU fans then max out.
2) Reboot
3) Power off
My CPU and GPU do not ever exceed 50C and 75C respectively. My motherboard consistently reports between 11.7V to 12.0V coming from the 12V rail. A few passes of Memtest86+ found no memory issues.
Following the most recent crash today, my computer now refuses to start at all. The HDD LED light remains permanently on but the computer otherwise behaves as if unpowered. Sometimes there is a subtle squeak sound when I try to power it on. A few other things I tried that did not work:
1) Remove the GPU
2) Swap the Power switch and Reset switch pins and try booting using the reset button.
Hoping to get your opinions on which parts may be responsible or any information about additional diagnostics I should try. I don't have an extra PSU laying around though.
Component List (All parts are running @stock for now):
CPU: i5-4670k
GPU: Nvidia GTX760
PSU: 550W XFX TS
Mobo: MSI G41-PC Mate
Edit: PC has worked fine for several months prior.
