Diagnose me

I have a dull ache/pain in my lower left back. Right between my hip and my ribs. It's inside my body because I can feel it in my back and in my abdomen. I have had this pain for about a week and 1/2 now. It's more annoying now than anything else, but it's gradually becoming slightly more painful.
Any ideas?

Kidney stone, constipation, descending colon, among other possibilities.
Any other symptoms?
Abd pain can be referred...

Sounds like you're gay.

Seriously though...it could be appendix, kidney/kidney stone. I'd think kidney stone more than anything.

lmao. (i've always thought "appendix" was a funny word)

Appendix lower rt quadrant, but pain can radiate..stand on tippy toes, and drop to heels. if it is excruciating pain on "rebound" test=appenicitis (possibly)
See your primary...

I'll add to that. My next door neighbor lost function in a kidney last month. He had pain similar to that, and it got worse and worse. he went to the ER, and they missed it. Just like that. He had a blood clot that was killing his kidney.
Went back to the same hospital, and they missed it again!
The pain is terrible! He calls 911 for another transport, and insists on another hospital. About a week after onset, they find it, but kidney is mostly dead.

Moral of this story? even if you do the right thing, you could get screwed. Anandtech MD inc. is NOT the right thing!

Go see a doc, stat

He finds nothing wrong and pain persists, go see another doc.

how do they even diagnose something like a clot in the kidney? would it take some kind of scan, like an MRI, to see the clot?

I have no insurance and no money to pay a doctor.
I cannot pay it off monthly either. Either way I am royally screwed if it's a kidney stone or anything else for that matter.

sounds liek kidney stones to me...i just went through em (well i guess still am actually) as i went through a lithotripsy cause mine was "huge"
now iamgine peeing all these out in 2 days:

sadly the biggest piece i left at the ER as it was the msot excrusiating pain ever that i was throwing up everything (even water) and thus needed ER drugs (luckly no surgery) to get that one out

Most US cities and counties have "underinsured clinics" whereby you pay according to ability.
get it diagnosed asap.
NOT going could cost more than you are willing to pay.
Lithotripsy is not that expensive...if it is a stone you cannot pass.

An ED cannot refuse you treatment just because you have no insurance. Worrying about the bills should come a distant second from worrying about your health. If this has persisted for over a week and it's NOT going away, then your body is telling you there is a serious problem here and you should seek help.

At the very least you can pay off the bill $10.00 a week if that's what it takes.. At least until you can get on your feet and pay the remaining balance.

Go get checked!

please tell us you are going to go to a doctor...

are there no clinics at all, where you live, for people without insurance?

It doesn't hurt bad. Sometimes its not even there.
And there is no burning feeling when I urinate. Just a light dull pain in my lower back. If it progresses any further I will go see a doctor.
