Well you need to check the levels of the things you want to find and that will tell you what area is best. I usually hit Travencial, Durance lvl 3. I then move to ACT 4 CS and the ACT5 2nd WP unique then down the stairs to the Bloodrun Boss then down to the middle Bloodrun Area to the Imp Boss and finally to Bhaal's Area. This will net you lvl 50 ~ 70 stuff in NM and max level stuff in Hell mode, also if you have saved Anya and have not killed Nilathank, her portal leads to Piddleskin. Just increase the Boss kills will increase the odds of rares and uniques. For me it seems alot of uniques fall in ACT4 CS.

Go to Diabloii.net and enter their link for the mf calculator. Brings up a spreadsheet type proggy-enter what you are looking for and it will list the best areas to hunt for it.

Of course, if Blizz doesn't do anything about the rampart dupes on the realms now its all academic.

Act 5 has a really great combination of locations that I go to. Once you've saved Anya and she opens up the portal to Nilathank's lair you have access to Pindleskin. If you don't kill Nilathank the portal will always be there and you'll have easy access to Pindleskin. He is just inside the entrance of the house. He can drop anything. So you can do Pindleskin runs. After trading this stuff I then take the 2nd waypoint (can't remember the name) and polish off Shenk. He is another Unique monster that can drop great stuff. Then if you go back to the way point and meet the group gathered just ahead and off to the right there is another unique among them and he can drop good stuff. And one of them little demon fire breathers just ahead of them (he's green) can drop good stuff two. So, in less thatn 5 minutes I can gather 4 sets of pretty darn good drops. With a magic find percentace on my equipment it's great. The other big bonus to this combination of runs is the experience points you can gain. 5 runs like this can stock you up with items and huge experience gains.

Sorry I can't remember the names of the locations, I'm at work. But if your into Act 5 these spots should ring a bell.
