A little while back Circuit City had Diablo II for sale for $7.99. I heard of this game, and I figured for $8 I'd give it a try. I installed it and launched it the first time, and ran around the first area then stopped playing it. A few weeks go by and I figured I'd fire it up again and play it for a bit. Well, yesterday I stayed home from work and played about 10 hours straight. :) This game is crack. So, here's a public service announcment for you, if you like hack & slash style RPG's and have $8 do yourself a favor and buy this. :) I don't think I've enjoyed a PC game this much since Team Fortress Classic.

Now back to your regularly scheduled nefing.

I had a blast with the game too. Wonder if they'll ever release a third one?

Blizzard owns my soul. They are probably the only company I would buy a game from without looking at any screen shots / video or reading any reviews. I have enjoyed every game I have played.

The "original" Diablo probably consumed a good two years of my life. There was a stretch where I don't think I left my dorm room for a week because I was playing it so much.

I enjoyed Diablo and Diablo II (still have my disks) but at some point during Diablo II I just got tired of going "click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-
click-click-click-click-click-click" and stopped playing it. Great cutscenes though.

Yeah, it was a great game for sure! I wasted many many hours playing and I've defeated Diablo a number of times...I think I had my barbarian up in the 70s.

The only hints were blizzard hiring a few 3D artists and programmers several months ago, but that could have been to help out with the WoW expansion.

Blizzard rarely says what they are working on until they have something to show off.

I played that game for hours and hours when it first came out. Had a friend that worked at a game store so he got me the collector's edition or something too. And definitely play it online. No point in being offline.

Necromancers rock. I still just get up to blood golem and iron maiden and can walk into anything. Cow level is great too.

Hell's Gate London will be coming out sometime at the end of the year :) I think a lot of the employees who are working on that are ex blizzard. The gameplay seems very diablo 2ish mixed in with some guild wars. I have high hopes for it.

Many of the people who made Diablo 2 left blizzard and started new companies.

I still have hope that enough are left to make a good diablo game.

This is true...and they bought the DiabloIII.com (or something similar) DNS in the last year. I have always wondered if they will put a market out for it. My guess is, WoW has consumed most if not all of the resources possible. They got into the MMO market thinking they knew, but they had no idea what effect it would have on people and the industry. They had to update their hardware infrastructure very quickly when they saw the 1 million users mark very early on in the game's history. Since then, they have been working their butts off and it seems that they have finally came up for some air as of late. BC is rather smooth so far, but there is still a lot of development that needs to continue to come out for the game to continue it's dominance in the field.

Nevertheless, if WoW ever slows down, they might look back at SC or Diablo series. Until that happens, i think their focus is WoW and the millions of subscribers that they have. They are receiving an ENORMOUS amount of money each month from us :x

I am guessing they won't have a whole lot for the show this year?
