Diablo II Problem

I use reforce which is a refresh locker for all my FPS games and I just bought diablo II and I was wondering how I can make the resolution on diablo II 800x600 instead of 640x480. Seems like that might be what is causing the problem, is refresh lock. Anyway I can make diablo II compatible with it? I use 800x600 for my First person shooters and if I make the refresh rate lower, they will look crappy but diablo wont run it with the refresh rate I want to use on my fps games. ANY IDEAS? THANKS

You cannot change the resolution for Diablo II.

The expansion supports 800x600, so getting LoD can resolve our problem. If you aren't running a recent patch, they may have added 800x600 to the original game in a patch, but I don't know. I know if you are running a very old patch, the game will be TOTALLY different from the newer patches. They've made some pretty drastic changes to Diablo II throughout the years.

Diablo uses fixed-size bitmaps and only runs at a certain screen size. Shooters use 3D models that can be scaled up to most any screen resolution.

I think someone said in the Software forum that the D2 expansion pack ups the maximum resolution to 800x600.

edit: is there an echo in here? :)

Being a former insane hardcore Diablo II fan, I have to say that purchasing the expansion is totally worth it. It has a lot of new features that I don't think I could play without :) such as a larger stash, "3D mode" with perspective viewing, 2 new characters and a new act, and a larger resolution to play in.

However, Diablo II is an old game (2001), and once WoW is released almost half of Diablo players (according to Diablo forums) will be switching over. I won't, but I'm not sure if I will keep playing once I get a better system set up so I can play FPS's.

But while you have the game, I hope you have fun and good luck!
