Diablo II, LOD. How to save more than 100K gold?

Damn. I just lost almost 10K in gold. The stash was full, so I dumped 9K and change on the floor. Saved/exited, went back in. Gold on floor gone. :Q WTF?

How can I save more than 100K?

Too late. Got a level-17 Amazon. Using a bow....the lack of a shield at this point is kicking my butt.

The higher you level the more gold you can carry and have in your stash.

Lazy man's character: Necro (read: my character before I sorta stopped playing)
Gotta admit it was fun having a party of ~23 ppl with my hire, my golem, my revives, my skellies. Sure they're all weak as heck but it was still fun lagging my system to the max!

have a friend and create storage accounts. level up and go to harder difficulties. i stopped at level 54 or something, got really repetitive.

Keep in on your guy until you get more space in your stash. I think lvl 20 or so gets you an extra 50k in the stash and then at lvl 30 or 40, it jumps to 1 mil. As far as getting whooped, just run back a few steps then fire until enemies are close enough to get a hit in. Repeat.

Another thing that might help is getting a mercenary from Act 2 or 5. They fight with melee weapons, so they can get right into the mix while you stand back and help him kill the enemies that come toward him. If you need some help leveling and are on US East, lemme know as I have some decent level characters and nothing to do tonight.

Stopped playing that game about two months after it came out. Necro was up to level 30 or so at that point, I think...wonder if he's still around.

Just gotta get the game cd's back from my friend WHO'S HAD THEM FOR A FRIKKIN' YEAR and take a look.

I'll be honest; I cut my teeth on Diablo for Playstation. Yes, the original Playstation....when the console was the size of a backpack...before the vibrating joystick controller thing. (yes, a fkucing long time ago) :evil:

I'm learning...much like in the original, I find that initially I'm having the best luck w/the bow as the primary weapon, hence, the Amazon.

I need a shield...already had to resurrect my Archer or whatever the hell she's called (the other thing-fighter that you buy...) three damn times already and it's getting expensive

I had a level 89 Magic Find Sorc.... and a full stash of gold was obtained in about 20 minutes... or just trade someone

I should really play again. I had a zon, a sorc, all kinda high level mid 90 characters. I think my account is gone or deleted. I should fire it up and play again... then again, I don't think so. I spent way too much time in the cow levels... lol

high level critical strike, high level valkarie, and a simple decoy you keep casting. some mana /life leech stones of jordan and your set

then get high level multi/and the other multiple shot. elemental arrows blow later on. i had lots of +skills stuff on before my account got hacked.

dude, you suck. What's the secret? I'm playing the old fashioned way. I know that a lot of people STOPPED playing D2 b/c of hackers and cheats...just like CS.

Anyone can DL patches and hacks...I like to actually learn how to play the game. Back in the Atari days

i have a level 94 zon, level 76 zon, level 85 wearwolf, level 81 wearbear, level 59 pvp paladin, level 74 assasin, level 30 sorceress, level 59 sorceress, level 74 hardcore barbarian, level 68 hardcore necromancer, level 62 hardcore druid...

i forget the rest at this moment.

all single player, none rushed. i sometimes take em into TCPIP games, though, which is why i have the pvp characters.

i have almost all the best items, too. if you're in single player, talk to me

OH, and i am VIOLENTLY opposed to cheating...

All you have to do is ask someone to take you through all the levels and eventually work your way to hell. Once you get there level yourself up all the way and go into the cow levels and just kill cows all day long and level yourself up. That was my main objective in that game; play in the cow levels and level myself up.

The secret is finding a friend to rush you through hell. Then you join cow run games and level up ultra quick.

Playing correctly takes too long.

Amen to all that's been said above - the amount of gold you can store increases as you level up. And as for the disappearing gold thing - well, of course items disappear from the ground after you save/exit the game. The ground is not a stash.
