For those of you still interested in this oldie but goodie...

Battle.net

We will be performing a Diablo II ladder reset on June 17 beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. PDT. The reset is anticipated to require approximately six hours of downtime to complete, and during that time all Diablo II Battle.net realms will be unavailable for play. When the reset occurs all existing ladder characters will be moved to non-ladder. This provides a fresh start and new competition for leveling supremacy on the ladder realm.

Personally I dunno if I have it in me to get involved with the game again - it gets to be a treadmill sooner and sooner each time... maybe... it can be fun while the realm economy is still up in the air.

Oh no... the temptation burns each time I hear of such news. That new upcoming Ladder Season will be what, the 4th or 5th one I think? I have lost track of the number of Seasons so far. I know I've played the first one completely, I've skipped the second, played the third some and right now I don't even know if it's still the third one or the fourth one. One thing is for sure is that it was about time.

Oh yes it is indeed, at least that applies to me for sure. I must have spent, or lost... not sure anymore... about three years or a little more of my life playing it, and even if today I rarely play it I still do, and since there's a lack of good games for my tastes lately I could see myself playing it every day when I come back from work and all week-ends long. The thing is I don't want to do that, the problem is I know I'll want to anyway... God have pity.

A subtle clue that Diablo 3 is in the works. I broke that addiction ages ago, thankfully. Now, D3 = mind numbing addiction for years to come.

is it just me, or do Mythos and Titan Quest pale in comparision to the fun of D2.

One of the things I don't like about D2 is the inflexibility on changing skill points. There'd be no harm if you could re-assign them instead of having to make a new char.

That and also Blizzard who never developed an official method to allow transferring items between characters of the same account and/or of different accounts.

It only took a few hours to get from Level 1 up to the 60's and 70's which never made this an issue.

I do dislike any game generally speaking where you can redistribute your entire skill/stat set to re-create a whole new character.

Feels unnatural to me.

I've been playing Titan Quest, and it is loads of fun. The game makes several improvements over D2, however some parts are simply blatant rip offs.

Well Mythos is in beta... still early beta if you ask me with the revamp to the OW now. I think Mythos will be just as addiciting and as much of a time sink... hell already is for me.

D2 will always be more fun for me than Mythos has shown to be and I'm not sure why... I would say that the lack of plot is hurting Mythos but I played D2 for so long that the plot has been covered in the first 1% of the total amount of time I spent playing it

rip offs in a good way. Titan Quest was like Diablo3 for me. I enjoy playing it still.

Joining in with a lit sorc. By our powers combined, we are...hopefully not gonna die too much.

Until you run into late nightmare to all of hell difficulty and you have cold resist/immune lightning resist/immune + lightning enchant + very fast unique mobs just about anywhere! :p

Of course, things might have changed the last I played... ~1.10 several years back.

I'll go with a Sword Barbarian this time, I always went with a Mace Barb before, I'm old school. I might also make an Amazon, probably an hybrid, both Bow and Javelin. The rest is meh... I tried a Paladin before, a Smiter, it was boring, never tried Hammerdin, too expensive for me. I could try a Full Tal-Rasha Sorceress, it ain't too expensive and it deals decent damage. But my priority is a Sword Barbarian definitely, and if I have enough time in between, as I said, an Amazon, probably with Full M'avina's.

I usually start with a Meteor-Fireball-Frozen Orb sorc... not too gear dependent, very versatile. After that I'll probably start up a Smiter-Zealot (for organs and Ubers) and somewhere in there get started on a hybrid Zon... after that I don't know. That's if I manage to stay interested, but the game is always more interesting to me while I'm still poor. :)

Barbs are one of my favorite classes, but I usually wait until I have some good equipment on hand before making one.

Ladder is up again. New patch, doesn't add any new gameplay, but it does remove the CD check, and I think some of the hacks no longer work. Krebs will be my uswest ladder account.

Wow, I'm not used to having people battle each other for crappy drops but man, it was wild last night. I found a pair of Hotspurs in A1 and a guy cussed me out for 10 minutes or so since I wouldn't give them to him or trade them for some chipped gems...

Tiz cut throat. Stopped at lvl 19 last night, I know Jeeeb was alot higher. When I logged off around 9:00 PM Central or so #1 on the ladder was a lvl 72 assassin (probably been playing all day). How'd everyone else fair?
