Diablo II Expansion is out!

To anyone who is interested or cares the Expansion "Lord of Destruction" for Diablo II is out today. Picked up my copy this morning and am waiting till iget home from work ti be able to play it.

damn EB is only charging $35 which for an expansion is high but i plan on price matching it this weekend anyway so no big deal.

Im a big gamer and always have been but somehow i find paying $35+ for a mere &quot;add-on&quot; a bit steep no matter what the game is. Also, as some of you may know the prices always go down further after the release date so why not wait a week or 2 and get it cheaper?

I played the first quest of the expansion pack, it was decent, I really like the 800X600 graphics, the exp pack gets an A+ from me. The movie clips are pretty cool too. And there's like a TON more items now, all new and better.

has there every been a time where the expantion pack was more than the acual game? cuz diablo 2 is 30 bucks at eb right now... and exp pack is 35.. i find that ironic

When I got to level 31 I stopped playing. It just took too long to level-up. Man....

just so you know, you dont have to buy the crappack to run diablo2 classic in 800x600.

800x600 looks alot better than 640x480. Everything seems to look much better and it is easier on the eyes. The 800X600 resolution makes everything look alot smaller since it is a 2D game. The character will seem to be moving slower as well.

Also, the minimap was a nice touch to the game.

The 800x600 is excellent since you can see a larger radius around you. Therefore, you can see the monsters a little earlier than normal.

The best thing about the expansion pack is the 'w' button... Let's you swap between 2 sets of weapon/shield.

How do u run Diablo 2 at 800x600 then?

Several friends tried out this patch and said it works fine. It involves some simple registry changes. I haven't tried it yet. Diablo 2 800x600 resolution hack

FYI, I read about that on a Diablo 2 message board, and I added the reg key, and all it did was cause the game to lock up whenever I tried to host or join a game, at the little picture of the guy standing outside the door waiting for it to open.

aaronp, there are two different versions of patch_d2.mpq file or whatever its called. i used to have the same problem till i tried this one instead. cheers.

thanks for the tip brotherman, but I bought the expansion pack. I figured what the hey, I haven't bought a game in a couple months, and I really loved D2.

The exp pack is great BTW.
