Read a article were they may make it for a console also. I sure hope so one thing they said that may hold it back from being done was making it working with the controler.

This kinda grips me because with the PS 3 you can get a blue tooth keyboard and mouse to work just like one will for the PC. With this kinda power the PS3 has and being able to use a key board and mouse I cant see why more have not made games like these.

The 360 has a key pad but not sure you can hook up a mouse to it.

The PS3 and 360 still are able to produce good audio audio and video effects for today's standards. If the next gen counsel they put out would use the new upcoming Intel CPU's
( Nethalam or something like that ) and use the best gpu at the wit dedicated ram for the GPU along with system ram they would rock for gamers, and game developers.

I doubt it will come to consoles. Blizzard has been pretty firmly on the PC side of things for a while. If you want the game you should likely just plan to buy it for your PC.

June 29th Joystiq Interview

Do you have any plans for Diablo on consoles?
We don't have any plans.

June 30th Guardian Interview

Any plans to bring Diablo 3 to console?

I don't know yet. A lot of it depends on whether we think the gameplay experience will be the same on console, especially regarding the controls. Also I'd like to keep our audience together. One question mark I have is whether the console owners would allow PC players to play against console gamers. I think the answer gets a lot easier if the console owners say yes. But at the moment they do like to have closed systems. But you know, I think what it really it comes down to is the game itself. We want to deliver what is the best experience possible so the controls and everything else have to be perfect. When you are developing for multiple platforms you sometimes have to compromise. We aren't willing to compromise. We have relationships with all the console manufacturers. I know they would love to have us on their platforms, ideally on their own and not their competitor! But it's all about the game experience.

So, in short, don't get your hopes up.

If there ever was a console version (which I doubt), I'd probably bet on a 360 version since they indicated PC/Console cross-platform play. Something the 360 supports but the PS3 does not.

Diablo III is just about the only Blizzard game I could see coming to consoles. Starcraft 2 and WoW are too complicated to be simplified down to a gamepad. From what I've seen of D3 it almost looks simple enough to work with a control pad. I doubt it'll happen though.

I'm not sure why you brought up the PS3's power, because a good gaming PC is still more powerful.

The 360 has a key pad but not sure you can hook up a mouse to it.

The only thing stopping you from using a USB keyboard and mouse with a 360 is Microsoft (I believe you can use a USB keyboard, but only on text entry screens).

We're still a couple of years away from next-gen consoles, so who knows what will change by then... As much as I loved Diablo 2 though, one thing I hope does not change is the input methods. I really don't want to see keyboards/mice on consoles. I don't want to have to play against keyboard/mouse users in multiplayer games, because I don't want to use a keyboard/mouse.

The original Diablo came out for PS1 and wasn't a particularly big hit. It's...well...not as much fun on a console. Maybe better consoles will change that, but I highly doubt you'll see it.

Warcraft II did as well, IIRC, and yeah... it was painful watching someone play it.

Sure, you can use a keyboard and mouse with the PS3, but most people have consoles hooked to their TV's in the living room, not necessarily a great place to handle a kb/mouse. It's my opinion that anybody who would actually care would already have Diablo 3 on their PC before it would ever come out on consoles.

I doubt it'll happen. I don't see a way it would work well unless it was made a completely different way. A Diablo 3 that worked like Marvel: Ultimate Alliance would work very well for consoles but the point and click thing is great for PCs. Every time Blizzard ports to consoles it doesn't work as well as on the PC.

Yes Pc are more powerful now but it said they don't plan on making it a very demanding game for the PC.

As far as a keyboard and a mouse in the living room being a issue most folks I now love that they can sit on there couch and play a game.
A 50 screen beats the heck out of most monitors folks use for a PC.
As far as audio, few will have the as good as a audio system on the PC as they do the home theater system.
Diablo II Runs fine on my Imac, and i was going to build a new PC but had to install a new central air and new duct work in my home this week, so the PC will have to wait.

from the previews they seem to be simplifying the game somewhat. Making it more of a mouse game than the old mouse and keyboard we're all used to.

If microsoft or sony really wanted to they can throw money at blizzard and get them to make a few modifications and get diablo 3 to run on the 360 or ps3. The systems are more adequate to run the game reasonably well. But D3 will strictly be a PC game for me.

Definitely not going to happen.

If that slight chance does happen, let's not mention that there won't be any multiplayer at all since Blizzard games run on Battle.net.

I agree that it isn't going to happen but there would be nothing keeping Blizzard from running the game on their own servers. Online games are run on dedicated servers for the PS3 and MS allows companies to run their own servers through Live.

Yep. EA signed up for Live years ago only because Microsoft let them use their own stuff, they just plug into the Live network to use gamertags and such.

The best console for Diablo 3 would probably be the Wii due to its wiimote...however it would also be the biggest challenge to port for, and its online system is sketchy at best...although if that's something Blizzard would have control over for their own game then maybe we'd finally have a good online Wii game.

But with the game just newly announced, we very well might have a new system when Diablo 3 is finally available for PC, so who knows what might happen.

Oh, god that would be horrible.

I played Diablo I on the PS1, and I find it to be effective and amusing enough. However, I don't really think D3 will come to any.

Didn't Starcraft come out for the N64 as well? That seems like it would be painful to play.

You've got to be kidding me.
