Everytime I play D2 during a computing session my sys will hang at the win98 shutdown logo, if I don't play D2, my sys will shutdown normally. I have tried various suggested shutdown batch files and even the Microsoft files addressing Win98 shutdown problems to no avail. This is the only game or program that causes any problem. I am running the D2 1.01 update at present but even the 1.02 had it.
Cumine 500 O/C to 750
128mb 133mhz ram
TNT 2 32mb
Tyan S1854 mobo
I realize that my problem is minor compared to others mentioned in this forum but non-the-less it is a glitch. Any help will be appreciated. ronach

I'm not sure if it could help but I see a possible of 2 problems

One.. try the 1.03 patch although it nerfs many skills I believe it adds stability.

Two.. Try killing the overclock to see if the shutdown error occurs again.

my 2 cents

Gatsby,
Thanks for the responce, I installed the 1.03 update and downclocked to 500mhz, samo samo. This lil glitch is beginning to PMO, my girlfriend who uses the same sys, and sits right next to me, since I built them both identically, does not have the problemo. I also uninstalled every thing that I installed in the last month, and reinstalled Win98, reinstalled Diablo 2 [ saved my characters of course ],WTF else can a guy do except [ Gasp ] reformat, Geees everything else works just fine. In desperation, I tried a suggestion from my GF and used her flowery, pink panty style wallpaper for a day and of course, nada. Her frequent fem comments about the functionallity of my sys compared to her's doesn't help either. Hellllp, ronach.
