Diablo 2 or Baldur's Gate 2?

I just received Baldurs Gate 2 in the mail yesterday, but I haven't played it yet. I figured I'd look a little at the manual first, which may actually turn out to be a long time considering that things got more than 200 pages. Anyways, I bought D2 and the original Baldur's Gate at the same time, and I actually enjoyed Baldur's Gate a lot better and I finished playing that one first. So my guess would be that Baldur's Gate 2 will also be better after reading the reviews on it.😀

In my personal opinion BGII beats D2 by far. However this might not be true for you. Read reviews - D2 is a (multiplayer-) action game with some RPG parts, while BG2 is an epic classic computer RPG.
Did you play BG1? If you like BG1 then you will like BG2, and probably the other way round.

Of the 2, i prefered BG2 much more. D2 just didnt do it for me, there wasnt enough depth to it )not much more than diablo 1).

To me, Baldur's Gate II is much better, I was addicted to Diablo years ago but the sequal is really disappointed me, while BGII provides much more fun and won't make you tired for playing it.

Question for all you BG2'ers out there.
Is the store more involving this time around?
I remember BG1, being a long time paper RPG'er, I loved BG1 at first.

But after a while, its story got SOOOO boring, kill a guy, find a note mentioning another guy, kill him too, find another note, kill next guy, find a third note etc etc etc.

Got old after 5 or 6 notes/guys.

Well, I like rpg theme type games. Diablo2 is in a way like a rpg shooter. It's simple to get into and you team up and shoot monsters and random treasures drop. You get stronger and get better stuff and repeat the process in a new random area.

BG2 is a true rpg with many quests. There's more than kill monster X even though you get to do that too, and there is certainly much strategy and suprise. Heh, I've walk-in on 2 Liches so far in areas I consider are learning areas. Imagine my suprise. 😉

I like em both but I'm playing BG2 now, but I need my simple treasure hunts in D2 as well.

If I had to choose only one. I'd probably say D2.

I haven't played BG2, but I like the light RPG action of D2. It is really fun to find kewl items and find out the effectiveness of various skills.
