diablo 2 LOD - no video modes detected

hey
my friend just reformatted his computer, and had problems with diablo 2, that he never had problems with before. when he tries to run D2, it says that there are no video modes found, his current hardware is:

epox 8kha
geforce 2 pro
1.3 gig amd

i think he installed win2k first, then amd agp drivers, then VIA 4-in-1 (dis-including the agp drivers), then the latest detonator drivers
does anyone have a solution for this?

would not rebooting after installing drivers cause these types of problems?
