Diablo 2 Exp question:

Supposedly there is some command that lets you set the number of players that the computer thinks are in the game, therefore making the game more difficult. i am not talking about max # of players but having it think that there are 8 ppl in a game when there is really 1 or 2.

For those of you lost, when a player enters the game it says "diablo's minions grow stronger" and then the Hp and XP of creatures goes up, i think items dropped too but not sure. This might be something with the beta 1.10 patch or it might be an old thing anyone?

In 1.09 just type "players #" where number is from 1 to 8 in any single player or lan game(you cant go below actual number of players though) . In 1.10 beta you need to type "/players #" This has been there for a couple of years IIRC.

so your saying i can't make it harder if i wanted to but i could make it easier?

if there are 4 people in the game i can say "players 2" and it be easier; but i couldn't say "players 6" tp make it harder?

Like he said: "you cant go below actual number of players".

If you typed 'players 8' it would be the equivalent of having 8 players in the game, just without the extra players to help out. The monsters would be much tougher and give out a lot more experience.

Just FYI - you won't get a message about his minions growing stronger when using this command but it will work.

ok thanks i've been playing that alot now and i can't get on battle net so no multiplayer for me. This will increase the difficulty and perhaps the fun too. Also if anyone still plays i am up for an ip game anytime.

In 1.10 beta it does give me a message. It causes whoever uses it to say "<Playername>: players set to x".

I can't wait till this patch gets on b.net. The addiction is back!
