Diablo 2 cd recognition problem

i have diablo 2. When i try to run it, it says insert cd. It is inserted. I think it could be becuse i have 2 hdd, so my cdrom is e:\. I'm downing a patch as i type, but the patch info says it wont fix that prob. thanx

a copy of my own cd. I actually make backups. i also tried the origonal.

they have encryped some serious protection on the Diablo 2 cd against duplication..
as a result alot of the cdroms might need the lastest Firmware update (check your cdrom vendor)

I've had that happen to me as well when trying to use an original Diablo 2 cd with my Creative CD-RW. I didn't try a firmware update, since my DVD drive runs the game no problem (with the latest software patch). I'd follow jinglingxl's advice and upgrade your cd-rom's firmware.

or use clonecd and a plextor to make the backup copy

i know exactly waht he is talking about, if you didnt make it yourself, the exe should be on the cd

just in case...bad bad bad
