Hello,

Is there any way to run Diablo ][ with a Glide Wrapper? I was running Diablo ][ on a V3 3000, but I've changed my Video Card for an Asus V7700 and now I have to run the game in D3D. When there's many people and some firewall spells in the screen, it slows down! It never happened when I was running in Glide, so, if I can run D][ with a Glide Wrapper, I suppose I won't get any slow down anymore!

As far as I know, any game that supports Glide can be played using a Glide wrapper. Check out this post from a while back:

Glide Wrapper

Of the bunch, I still recommend GL2Ideal Wrapper V 1.4 and as a distant second choice, WinGlide 1.01.

[edit] Linkified GL2Ideal and WinGlide to their homepages. [/edit]

Using a glide wrapper probably won't give you any speed increases. It may even slow down performance because it has to translate glide instructions into direct3d instructions, which isn't always optimal. The problem lies in the D2 direct3d implementation which, quite frankly, sucks.

The glide wrapper may work fine, but if it doesn't, try playing in 2d which is always faster than 3d. If D2 is the only game you play, then consider using your voodoo card instead of the Asus.
